Joy. What does that word mean to you? Not happiness; joy. There is a book and a Netflix series on tidying up your home and the key to removing things is to ask; "Does this bring me joy?" If it does, you keep it.
When I meditate I feel joy in being still. When I see babies laughing I feel joy. Hugs from my 6' tall sons brings me joy and loving looks from my beloved man. Being with the grandchildren brings me no end of joy.
When I was a recess supervisor watching kids play brought me smiles, hugs and joy.
The definition of joy is: a feeling or state of well-being and contentment.
For myself, joy is not a fleeting emotion. Every single thing I look at in my home brings me joy. If it doesn't it is removed to make someone else happy.
When sadness comes over me all I need do is to recognize it, express gratitude and move it along!
